Dr. Zabinski is a Clinical Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), committed to providing quality mental health care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University, where she focused her research on white racial identity development, immigration processes, and antiracism efforts. She also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) from Roosevelt University. Her research has been presented at various conferences, including the Illinois Psychological Association, the Association for Women in Psychology, and the International Council of Psychologists. Additionally, Dr. Zabinski was honored to be selected as a mentee within the Illinois Psychological Association’s Social Responsibility section, where she developed a deeper understanding of how social justice can be integrated into the therapeutic space.
Dr. Zabinski works with clients aged 12 and up, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. Her specialties include treating depression, anxiety, personality disorders, work stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and identity development. She also has significant experience working with adolescents, particularly in the areas of family conflict, academic stress, and identity formation.
Throughout her career, Dr. Zabinski has had the privilege of working in diverse settings such as community mental health centers, hospitals, trauma centers, and outpatient clinics. She draws from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. Her treatment approach is eclectic and client-centered, ensuring that interventions are matched to each individual’s unique concerns and evolving needs. Dr. Zabinski believes in the importance of fostering a collaborative, engaging therapeutic experience, incorporating humor and a strengths-based perspective where appropriate to create a warm and supportive environment.
