Antonina Barr, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across therapeutic, educational, and clinical settings. She holds a Master’s degree in School Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Antonina also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance Therapy from Rockford and Regents College.
Antonina holds a Professional Educator License through the Illinois State Board of Education, allowing her to work with children and adolescents from Pre-K through 12th grade. Her extensive professional background includes over a decade of experience as a School Social Worker and Clinical Director at a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of individuals who are dually diagnosed, have experienced complex trauma, and often present with developmental disabilities or cognitive delays.
Antonina provides Individual, Family, Group, and Couples Therapy for clients ages 4 through geriatric. She works with a wide range of presenting concerns including Mood and Emotional Disorders, Anxiety, PTSD, Trauma, Domestic Violence, Postpartum Depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Special Needs, Behavioral Modification, Self-Injury, and Grief/Loss. She also supports adults and older adults with life transitions, caregiver stress, chronic illness, aging-related challenges, and women’s mental health issues.
Her therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT). She also integrates psychoeducational and supportive strategies that are solution-focused and empathic, tailoring treatment to the unique needs and strengths of each client.
